Sedona; A desert classic linking 3 Passes 19 miles, 3,800ft
Utah

Sylvester Trail to Castleton Tower
Castle Valley; a less known trail up to these iconic towers 10.25 miles, 2,600ft

Canyonlands; hopscotching through the desert and sliding through slots 11.5 miles 2,000ft

Canyonlands; feels like a secret world back here 11 miles, 1,200ft
Colorado- high country San Juans

San Juan Mountains; a high elevation loop around Engineer Mountain with option to add the summit! 17 miles, 3400ft

Wilson Traverse/Wilson Grand Slam
Outside of Telluride; this route includes 3x14ers (Mt Wilson, El Diente, and Wilson Peak) 20 miles, 8000ft

Telluride; an exellent half marathon above town 13 miles 3,800ft

Lizard Head Wilderness; a cool loop under the Lizard 11.5 miles 2,700ft

Ouray; named for a reason! 20 miles 6,000ft

Ridgeway; starting with Blue lakes basin, add the SW ridge to Sneffles for some fun scrambling 12.5 miles 5,000ft

San Juan Mountains; deep in the Weminuche Wilderness the infamous Wham Ridge 15.5 miles 6,000ft

San Juan Mountains; point to point stopping by Island Lake 14.5 miles 4,200ft
Colorado- Maroon Bells

Maybe the hardest marathon but an ultra-classic, I prefer counter-clockwise 26.5 miles 7,500ft

A shorter alternate to 4 pass with stunner views 23 miles 6,000ft

Horseshoe run to a dunk in the hot spring if you wish! 21 miles 4,600ft

A dreamy run to a beautiful lake or a thriller crossing the knife ridge 16.75 miles 5,900ft
Colorado- low country San Juans

Durango; Horse Gulch Trailhead, an in-town favorite 10 miles, 1,300ft

Durango; Junction Creek/Colorado Trail, a runners run on the first few miles of the CT 15 miles, 2200ft

Durango; the longest climbs you can get are on Missionary RIdge 18 miles, 4400ft
California: South Lake Tahoe Area

12 mile out and back on the Rubicon trail around Emerald Bay and up to Rubicon point; rolling fast trail with about 1,400ft gain

Ralston Peak, Echo Lake, PCT Loop
An awesome 22 mile loop starting with the steep Ralston Peak, then connecting down to the PCT along Echo Lake and looping an awesome section behind Sierra at Tahoe resort back to the start; 5,100ft

The classic peak bag of South Lake Tahoe. Amazing views of Lake Tahoe and the Desolation wilderness; 10 miles and 3k vert

PCT running to this lake will make you wish you had brought a tent to post up and stay out here! Detour to Lake of the Woods added here. 13 miles 1,800ft

Lollipop route starting at Maggies Peak Trailhead near Emerald Bay with so many tempting lakes along the way! 12 miles, 3,000ft

A pass (and peak option) pretty accessible in the Desolation Wilderness. Many options for routes, this one routes to Tallac and back for lots of runnable vert. 21 miles 5.600ft

Straight up grind along the creek then a talus field to the summit. A good option for some major vert reps! 7 miles, 4,000ft vert

Stunning (but popular) trail with the classic Sierra granite steps into the Desolation wilderness but once you’re out there it’s pretty desolate! Only a few miles up but can make it as long as you want cruising on the PCT. This route an O&B to Stony Ridge Lake on the Tahoe Yosemite Trail. 22 miles 4,600ft
