Growing up as a gymnast and dancer, movement has always been a necessary element in my life. In addition to long hours of practice, I would spend hours in my backyard between my trampoline and homemade balance beam until the sun went down. In college I discovered rock climbing which developed my love for exploring the mountains and landscapes of Arizona, the Southwest, and beyond. Upon graduating from Arizona State University and having recently discovered trail/ultra running, I moved to Telluride, Colorado; still my home base for training and adventures. After several years of a resistant relationship with snow while living in a ski town, I finally decided I needed to adopt a winter sport. Thus I forced myself (with obsession) to learn how to ski and was quickly attracted to Skimo. At first Skimo was a way to train and get through the winter, but soon racing became a passion (unsuprisingly) and landed me on the USA Skimo team competing on the World Cup circuit.

Nutrition
Being an endurance athlete, I spend much of my time moving in the mountains and EATING, which requires lots of time cooking in my kitchen. I have long been interested in nutrition, specifically in regards to optimizing my training, racing, and fueling my adventures. I love cooking for people and the “bringing together” food brings. I have realized the crucial importance of nutrition in not only maintaining health, but also for performance, injury prevention and rehabilitation. In my blog I love writing about nutrition topics and sharing some of my favorite recipes!

Coaching
I have been a coach for over a decade now, between coaching running and gymnastics. I feel compelled to share with others what I have learned and experienced in sport (and still learning!) Supporting others in their journey is the most fulfilling thing I do. My education as a coach is constantly growing between experience, research, and practice. Coaching truly embodies the fact that passion and success are multiplied when shared!!
